Pia Aluli was born and raised on Oahu. He would spend summers on Maui where his mother was from. Wanting to get away from the big city and more crowded lifestyle, Pia finally made the move to Maui in 1968, where he would surf, canoe and just enjoy the slower lifestyle.
After having spent most of his time playing Hawaiian music for hotels, restaurants and weddings, he decided to become a minister in 1998. The joy and amazing way to connect with people on such an important day in people’s lives lured him in. And while he still plays Hawaiian music, officiating is what he does most.
